In the summer of 2009 ...
nine European Asatru groups together organised an eight-days-long summer camp in Denmark. As it was put into words at the time: ‘A week during which asatruar from all over the world can get together and enjoy each others company, leaving not only unforgettable memories, but also creating everlasting friendships. It will provide a opportunity to meet other heathens in surroundings of beauty, joy and learning.’
It was all this and more for well over 150 people: women, men and children from at least 13 nationalities ...
In the summer of 2012 ...
three years after the first IASC there will be an Asatru Summer Camp once again, this time, in Germany. To be more specific: in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) in the village of Hatten situated in an aesthetically and ecologically attractive countryside. A combination of recreational, educational and social activities bears the promise IASC 2012 to be an exciting and unique heathen gathering. Amongst the wide range of activities, for both children and adults, provided during the whole week there will be games, blots, bonfires, a variety of arts and crafts, as well as lectures and workshops on asatru, runes and seidh.
You will stay at
youth hostel Sandhatten in the village of Hatten, 16 km southeast from Oldenburg and 40 km west of the city of Bremen, from July 28th - August 4th 2012.
Enrolment is possible from the beginning of January until the end of June 2012.
This second international summercamp will be hosted by Het Rad (NL), Eldaring e.V. (DE) and Verein für germanisches Heidentum e.V. (DE) in cooperation with the following asatru groups:
